Kat Torbett

Katharine (or "Kat") is a natural connector, information seeker, and champion of all things Knoxville. As the resident “Knoxville-project-person” at Loch & Key, she thrives on showcasing her city—whether it’s capturing the great outdoors, the local food scene, or interviewing our town's movers and shakers. Although Kat graduated from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA, with a degree in Psychology, she found her way back to Knoxville to begin her career in radio.

Beyond work, she’s a yoga-loving, music-obsessed adventurer who never turns down a chance to travel. Her quick-witted humor (often in puns—consider yourself warned) keeps things light, and she’s always up for a deep dive into pop culture, obscure facts, or rarely cited Wikipedia articles—especially if it makes for great cocktail conversation.

At home, she keeps up with two young boys, including a math whiz and a bear fanatic (panda, polar, teddy, you name it), proving that she’s equally skilled at managing the juggle, or the struggle (both very real). If she’s not planning a video shoot, exploring new ideas, or making people laugh, she's likely bringing energy, curiosity, and just enough mischief to keep it interesting.
