Deniece Thomas was appointed by Governor Bill Lee in 2022 as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. In this role, she oversees Tennessee's statewide workforce development strategies and initiatives. She is also a leading voice nationally on workforce development as chair of the National Governors Association's State Workforce Liaisons and as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies.
