Deniece Thomas, appointed by Governor Bill Lee in 2022, serves as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Since joining the department in 2017, she has advanced through key leadership roles and now guides statewide and national workforce strategies.
She also serves as Chair of State Workforce Liaisons for the National Governors Association and as a board member of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, championing innovation and collaboration to strengthen Tennessee’s workforce.
