Professional Bio

With $3,000 in savings, Mitch I. Patel founded Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. in 1997 with the goal of creating a company dedicated to excellence with a focus on community and family.  Over his career, Mitch and his team have developed over 60 hotels and currently hold a 44-property portfolio spanning eight states, with a valuation of over $1 Billion. In addition, Vision has a pipeline of 12 hotels that are either under construction or in development. These hotels are affiliated with premier brands such as Hilton Worldwide and Marriott International.

Under Mitch’s leadership, Vision has been recognized numerous times for its efforts in development, design, community service, and service excellence. Vision has received the Marriott International Partnership Circle Award, the Marriott International Developer of the Year Award for both select and full Service, the Marriott International Serve 360 Award, and the Hilton Worldwide Multi-Brand Developer of the Year Award, amongst others.

Mitch serves on the Marriott International Franchise Advisory Council, where he serves as the President of the AC by Marriott Franchise Advisory Council, the Hilton Worldwide Owner’s Advisory Council, the Executive Committee of American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), and AHLA’s No Room for Trafficking (NRFT) Advisory Council. Mitch is the current Chairman of the Board of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). Mitch is an avid advocate for ending human trafficking in the hospitality industry.

Mitch holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
