David H. Coleman is the Founder of Extrity Services and the Licensee in Charge of the company’s security operations. Based in Chicago, he has built Extrity Services into a security and training firm known for combining professionalism, hospitality, and tactful de-escalation to protect people, property, and brand reputation.
With more than 17 years of experience in security and de-escalation, David brings both field credibility and strategic leadership to the organization. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, a Pennsylvania Private Detective license, private security contractor licensure in Tennessee and Illinois, and is also a Private Investigator in Ohio. His background allows him to lead from both an operational and compliance-minded perspective while helping clients navigate safety, staffing, and service challenges across multiple environments.
David is also a Master Practitioner of NLP, Hypnotherapy, and Emotional Release Therapy, which has shaped Extrity’s distinctive approach to communication, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution. He believes that negotiation is always preferable to confrontation, and that security professionals should be trained not only to respond to risk, but to reduce it through awareness, calm leadership, and human-centered communication.
