Professional Bio
Wes Ramey is the Public Relations Director for Dollywood Parks & Resorts, one of the country’s most recognized theme park and resort destinations. A native of Gate City, Virginia, Ramey joined Dollywood in 2013 after spending approximately six years as the Public Relations Manager at Bristol Motor Speedway. His career in public relations began with an internship with NASCAR, an experience that helped establish his interest in combining communications with the excitement of the sports and entertainment industries.
Ramey completed his undergrad work at Carson-Newman University, and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a master’s degree in Professional Communications. He also has served as an adjunct professor at ETSU.
Today, Ramey helps lead communications efforts surrounding Dollywood’s attractions, resorts and major investments, including some of the company’s largest projects in its history. For Ramey, the connection to Dollywood is also a personal one. He frequently traveled with his parents and grandparents to the Smoky Mountains, with Dollywood counted as his favorite destination.
Outside of work, Ramey enjoys spending time with his wife—a teacher in the Knox County School system—and his two kids.
