In September 2024, Marc Stengel founded and currently serves as president of Wasioto Restoration Co. LLC, which is dedicated to the preservation and rehabilitation of historic structures in Gainesboro, Tennessee, at the heart of the Upper Cumberland region of Western Appalachia.
Stengel is an alumnus of Montgomery Bell Academy, Harvard College, Vanderbilt University and Brooks Institute of Photography, from which he received his degree in Cinema/Television Production in 1981. He is a husband and a father of three daughters; and he resides in Nashville, Tenn., where he maintains dual-citizenship both in the United States of America and in Canada.
A former board member of the Friends of Radnor Lake State Natural Area, Stengel currently serves as president of the Friends of Cordell Hull Lake in Tennessee's Upper Cumberland region; and he also serves on the boards of the Adventure Science Center, the Sudekum Planetarium Memorial Trust, Montgomery Bell Academy and The Røros Foundation, all based in Nashville.
